Meet our Founder

Irene is a seasoned and highly qualified HR professional with a degree in Law and master’s in Human Resources Management. She founded Black Working Mothers during her maternity leave in 2021 following her difficult experiences in the workplace and also challenges in maternal care. She aims to use her lived and professional experience through Black Working Mothers to advocate for women’s rights in the workplace, raise awareness of the barriers and challenges black women face at work, and encourage organisations to do more in this area to provide better workplace racial equity.
